Introduction

Jiwon Lee is a professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Yonsei University College of Medicine. She earned her bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in Family Medicine from Yonsei University College of Medicine. She also served as an exchange professor at the University of California, Irvine from 2014 to 2016. Currently, she leads clinical practice as the Chief of Family Medicine at Severance Hospital, focusing on obesity, metabolic syndrome, adult disease management, nutritional metabolism, and cancer prevention.


She has served as Academic Director of the Korean Academy of Family Medicine and currently holds key positions including board member of the Korean Sleep Medicine Society, education committee member of the Korean Society for the Study of Obesity, and academic committee member of the Korean Geriatrics Society. Professor Lee has received numerous academic awards for her research on metabolic syndrome, cognitive function, and obesity-related cardiovascular risks. Professor Lee emphasizes that family medicine research is fundamentally about "preventing chronic diseases through comprehensive metabolic health management."
